Hoof Armor hoof protection is a sturdy but flexible and wear-resistant self-adhesive coating, which is used to protect the bottom of a hoof from excessive wear and crumbling, but also to prevent infections and other damage to the hoof.
Although Hoof Armor is harder than a hoof, it is more flexible than a hoof, so it does not hinder the natural expansion and pumping operation (= hoof mechanism). The blood circulation remains optimal when using Hoof Armor, as well as the health of the foot and of course it does not hinder the natural gaits of the animal, as can be the case with other forms of hoof protection (horseshoes and hoof shoes, for example).
Hoof Armor protects the sole of the hoof, allowing the sole to become firmer and stronger, and therefore more resistant to scouring as a result of, for example, pebbles. The thickness and concavity (= hollowing) of the sole is the key to protecting the hoof.
